Toronto's newest housing co-op breaks ground

On Friday, the City of Toronto, CreateTO and the Co-operative Housing Federation of Toronto (CHFT) held a groundbreaking ceremony for Scarborough's new Kennedy Green Housing Co-op. Designed by Henriquez Partners Architects and CCxA, Kennedy Green will feature 612 affordable and market rent-controlled units, making it the largest co-operative housing development in a generation. Amazing!

Announcing Parkdale People's Place!

In other great housing news, Parkdale's Neighbourhood Land Trust has been selected by the City of Toronto to lead the development of Parkdale People's Place, a 16-storey building at 1337-1325 Queen Street West that will include deeply affordable, rent-controlled, and artists' live/work units as well as an impressive 23,000 square feet of community space. They also received an anonymous $3 million donation that will definitely help to get the ball rolling!
