SOLO presents Lucia di Lammermoor

The Southern Ontario Lyric Opera (SOLO) is back with a production of Lucia di Lammermoor, the dramma tragico by Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti. Conducted by Sabatino Vacca and featuring coloratura soprano Holly Chaplin as Miss Lucia, the opera's chorus includes LVAC's own Gerrit Seppenwoolde.

South Etobicoke's community pop-up choir Local Vocals is gearing up for its spring 2025 session, which will be co-ed! All genders are invited to sing in Jazz Hands, which will feature a selection of Broadway favourites conducted by director Mary Bella and sung by LVAC alto Pat Lewis, among others.

Early bird registration for the seven-week session gets you a $10 discount and runs until March 1. Fee support is also available by this date for anyone whose voice is willing but whose wallet is weak. Click below for the full schedule and to sign up.

Ontario election: Voter and access information

Election day is this Thursday, February 27 and it's projected to be a squeaker in Etobicoke—Lakeshore, so every vote counts! All you need to vote is one piece of identification—your Ontario driver's license or Ontario Photo Card—so make sure to turn up even if you haven't received your voter information card yet.

Accessible voting

If you can't vote in person due to illness or disability, you can request to vote by home visit and elections officials will bring a ballot to you! Just call your local election office before 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26: the phone number for the Etobicoke—Lakeshore office is 1-833-905-3499.
