We have a couple of LVAC events to announce this week, both of which are happening next weekend. Try to get out to both of them if you can.
Vladimir Topal | Susak Exhibition
LVAC member Vladimir Topal will mount a new exhibition at the MPS Gallery, opening on Saturday, November 11th at 5:00 pm.
Susak Exhibition is inspired by and a tribute to Topal's mentor, the late Petr Vlah. Vlah was a graphic and decorative artist from Gagauz Yeri, Moldova who became known for Susak: decorative gourds made from hard-shell pumpkins typical of Gagauz vine gardens, which he transformed into rich decorative objects using pyrographic techniques.
As Topal writes:
Susak is Petr Vlah’s contribution to the decorative arts of the world; it is a window to approach Gagauzian culture, and a vehicle to make Gagauz Yeri visible to the world. I had the privilege to be one of Petr Vlah’s students. This exhibition is my way of showing my gratitude to the master, and an exhortation for the public to spread the message of Susak: simple objects can be transformed into timeless pieces of art through the love of our tradition.
Susak Exhibition runs from November 11th until December 2nd, 2023. Viewing hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.

Sabrina Iaboni | Vision Board Party
Also on Saturday, graphic designer and LVAC member Sabrina Iaboni is hosting another Vision Board Party with mindset and wellness coach Daniela Panetta at Canvas Art Bar in Port Credit.
Taking place on November 11th (11/11) from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, this inspirational event is all about harnessing cosmic energy. Join Iaboni and Panetta as they explore the significance of 1111 and dive into the world of vision boards!
