The return of Local Vocals

Before the COVID-19 pandemic shut the world down I was a member of three community choirs. They all shut down, of course. The one I missed the most was Local Vocals, a Mimico-based choir.

Happily, our choral leader Mary Bella has heard our pleas and is starting the choir up again! This is a treble voices choir so if you're a soprano, alto or counter-tenor and miss having a group to sing with, follow the link below to sign up. If you sign up by February 28th the cost is just $70, rising to $85 after the 28th. But Local Vocals hopes to accommodate all who wish to join, regardless of ability to pay.

Local Vocals was originally a fundraising initiative of The Mimico Children's Choir. Bella put a call out for singers and she found herself with sopranos and altos. Each session, singers sign up for six to seven weeks of practice ending with a performance. All singers aged 16+ are welcome and no auditions are required.

The LOCAL VOCALS are an open community pop-up choir that rehearses in 6-8 week sessions, encouraging community-building, wellbeing and socializing through music.
